Don’t Let Your 4th of July End with an Appliance Emergency 🇺🇸

The burgers are gone, the fireworks are over, and everyone’s headed home. The last thing you want is for one of your appliances to decide the celebration isn’t over yet.

Here are a few simple ways to avoid a holiday headache:

🔥 Clean Your Dryer’s Lint Filter

Pool towels, beach towels, and extra laundry mean your dryer is working overtime. Clean the lint filter before every load to help it dry efficiently and reduce the risk of a lint fire.

🍔 Don’t Overload the Dishwasher

It’s tempting to cram every plate and serving dish into one load after the cookout, but overloading can leave dishes dirty and put extra strain on the machine. Two properly loaded loads are usually better than one stuffed-to-the-brim load.

🧊 Give Your Refrigerator a Break

Every time someone opens the fridge looking for another drink, cold air escapes. Try to grab everything you need at once instead of opening the door every five minutes. Your refrigerator—and your electric bill—will appreciate it.

🗑️ Be Nice to Your Garbage Disposal

Corn husks, bones, grease, watermelon rinds, and potato peels don’t belong in the disposal. Those leftovers are much better off in the trash or compost than causing a clogged sink after the party.

⚡ Watch the Extension Cords

Hosting often means plugging in slow cookers, warming trays, fans, and speakers. Avoid overloading power strips or extension cords, especially in the kitchen.

Enjoy the Holiday—Not an Appliance Repair

A few simple habits can help keep your appliances running smoothly long after the fireworks are over.
